The Fletcher Group Economic Calculator is an exciting new tool that helps recovery program operators make wise financial decisions and win the support of stakeholders, funders, community members, and government officials. It does so by quantifying several economic benefits associated with recovery including avoided healthcare costs, avoided criminal justice costs, avoided productivity costs, and the individual valuation of health. The tool can benefit all kinds of recovery programs, including recovery homes, residential treatment programs, outpatient programs, and recovery community organizations.

Developed in collaboration with real-world recovery program operators, the new tool:

Provides stakeholders, funders, community members, and government officials with detailed documentation regarding the many benefits of recovery programs, including criminal justice and healthcare savings
Provides similar documentation to make the most of grant proposals and applications
Calculates the Return On Investment (ROI) of potential financial outlays, including facility and land acquisition

Is there an Urban SUD Resource Center?

There is not an equivalent Urban SUD Resource Center. However, all of the information and tools on this website are available to the public, regardless of location or grant status.

What are the Rural Centers of Excellence?

The RCOEs were established in 2019 by the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP), an initiative of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) that aims to reduce morbidity and mortality related to SUD in rural areas.
